Very pleased with the Vsett8+ so far. I am 76 years of age and new to
E Scootering but the purchase was predominantly for visits to Rottnest. I won’t be using it back on the mainland at all but it will be a very useful tool on the Island. The double motors and the 3 power selections will be a godsend on some of the hills there. We are having 5 days there next week so I will be happy to give you a further report on return. That is the good news. Now the bad news.
I was happy with the price of the scooter but not happy with the news that a surcharge would be applied during payment. I don’t use a credit card - I choose to use only a debit card. The difference being that it is instant cash from my account to yours immediately. No fees apply so where does the surcharge become necessary ? If I give you $2000 cash you have to pay someone to fill a bank deposit form and take it to the bank - a cost of doing business - and probably a good reason for the surcharge. You are penalising the buyer who doesn’t incur any reason to pay in this case another $24.00.
I have been in business all my life and recognise that all “cost of doing business” is included in the profit of the retail price just like rent, wages, electricity, water, cleaners etc etc are a percentage of “cost of doing business” so why single out an extra fee for doing business with your bank. There is no way that any bank is going to charge you $24 for an instant sale. My advice is drop the surcharge or include it in the advertised retail price and let the buyer decide whether or not to deal with you or go elsewhere. I am still very happy with the purchase, but I have this stingy taste in my mouth. Regards Trevor Birch, Gooseberry Hill. June 2025
